Uncle Tom (The Documentary)

The word uncle tom is used across black communities around the world. From the enslavement of black people to the present day many believe that there are a set of black persons that should be referred to as Uncle Tom's due to their actions, viewpoints and behaviour; which often alienates them from their community.

In this documentary Mark Hamilton of Back2Back Films delves deeply into the use of the word Uncle Tom in order to explore people's beliefs and views of the word, and the actual meaning behind it. He also further examines why a word that has been in use for over 150 years continues to infuriate people, and cause pain and shame to persons labelled Uncle Tom.
