Trysta Due - To My Dad

The day you died,
I thought about death itself
and what it would be like,
to be there with you

Then I remembered
that I couldn't leave,
It would hurt my friends and family
and I couldn't do that to them

I love you so,
but not enough
to be giving up on everything
and give away my soul

I know you regret it
I hear your voice
you tell me to never forget you
that day I made a promise

even though I can't see you
I know you're here
watching over me
and making sure I'm safe,

For that I thank you.
