The young Jamie Hawkins lives a fairly ordinary life with her mother . Her life is suddenly changed when a man known only as Captain comes to stay at their inn. Adventure soon unfolds with Jamie encountering many characters and personalities ranging from Squire Trelawney, Doctor Livesey , and Captain Smollet, to the marooned Bertha Barbara Gunn, to the treacherous sea-cook Long John Silver.
