TotalAV Antivirus, is one such security suite. Providing a fairly standard selection of security features, like a 2-way firewall, cross-platform protection, and PC optimization tools, this antivirus doesn’t work to reinvent the wheel. Its goal is to provide affordable, quality protection to home users.

Because TotalAV Antivirus is a new program on the market, it hasn’t been tested by independent labs. However, our hands-on tests showed that it did detect the majority of malware thrown at it before the malware could be fully installed, and also did fairly well in protecting against phishing websites out to steal data.

But while TotalAV Antivirus’s introductory price is quite good, the non-introductory renewal price puts it in the same range as some of the higher-performing security suites. Depending on your needs, you may be better served looking elsewhere.
