Toshiba TV/DVD Player Combo from 2004

UPDATE: I was able to clean up the TV and sell it along with an identical model of it I had for $20.\r

This is a Toshiba CRT television/DVD player from 2004 that I found on the curb today while walking the dog. I first saw it around a week ago when walking by, but decided to leave it there. Today when I walked by, I decided to pick it up and take it home to fix up and restore. There was another TV next to it that was essentially the same thing, except with no DVD player, line input or headphone jack, just an antenna input. I decided to leave that one there, since it wasnt of any value and was the same TV with much fewer features. When I got home, I let the TV dry for a while before plugging it in. To my surprise, despite being left out in the cold, rainy weather for at least a week, the thing worked! The DVD player still works as well, as demonstrated in the video. The image is very sharp, with very good contrast and color reproduction. I guess the original owners of the TV upgraded to a crappy flatscreen, rather than throwing the TV out due to an issue with it. The only restoration work Ill have to do is a small amount of cleaning, then the machine will be in perfect shape. I will also have to get a universal remote or something to operate the DVD player, since the only functions that are on the front panel are Play, Skip, Stop, and Open/Close. But after that things should be great. It just comes to show how reliable CRTs are compared to the junk flatscreens they sell today. I would be surprised if any LCD or LED TV lasted as long as this CRT did out in the cold, rainy weather. As for the future of this TV, Im not sure whether I will keep it to use or sell it, since this kind of TV is too round and outdated to most people these days. However, I may have more luck selling it since it has a built-in DVD player. Ill just have to wait and see.
