Filled with mesmerizing mountains, lakes and amazing people, Bhutan can be considered as a doorway to heaven. But one place that marks this country as a prime target for visitors is the Taktsang Palphug Monastery also known by its simpler name the Tiger Nest Monastery. This awesome monastery is located on the cliffside of the upper side of the Paro Valley. The monastery was built around the “stag tshang seng ge bsam grub” (Taktsang Senge Samdup) cave in the year 1962.
