Thursday's market wrap

Shares on Wall Street tanked again on Thursday,... as equities remained in a tug-of-war with bond yields
Entering a correction,... the Dow Jones plunged by over one thousand points,... extending a streak of losses that has yanked the market far away from its record highs.
The Dow finished the day over four-percent lower,.. at 23,860.
And the S&P 500, also now in correction territory,... slumped nearly 4-percent at 2,581-point.
The tech-heavy Nasdaq also lost about the same to finish at 6,777.
The markets in Korea did better on Thursday,... in fact,... surprising many was the secondary bourse KOSDAQ.
The index closed up three-point-8 percent, or 31 points,... at 861-point-9.
That close,... coming after a temporary stoppage of the market,... as the junior bourse had popped up more than 4-percent,... forcing the regulators to put a 5-minute "sidecar" to restrain rapid market fluctuation-- the second time this year that the exchange was stopped.
And the benchmark KOSPI edged up half-a-point at 2,407-point-6,... and the local currency weakened against the greenback.
