Three-Year-Old Bear Rescued from "Prison"

A team from a bear sanctuary in Western Australia on June 26 rescued a three-year-old bear who suffers from problems with her feet.

The team from the Free the Bears Fund</a> shared their journey on Facebook, after successfully saving the bear from her Southeast Asia “prison.</a>” According to the group’s posts, the rescue team had “a tough time getting to this little bear, having crossed rivers and mountain passes with roads washed away, fresh landslides, a hail storm and even waterfalls that have suddenly appeared over the road.”

Photos show the shelter’s newest addition being enticed from her poor living conditions into a travel crate with bananas, where the problems with her feet can be seen clearly. Thankfully, she is now on her way to a better life in Australia! Credit: Free the Bears Fund via Storyful
