The Prison Planet Theory begins with a provocative premise: that humanity did not originate on Earth, we were placed here—either intentionally, forcibly, or accidentally—by an advanced and ancient extraterrestrial civilization.

Unlike the Zoo Hypothesis, which imagines Earth as a passive observation site, this theory casts our planet as a containment zone, a kind of interstellar penal colony where humanity is either being punished, rehabilitated, quarantined or all three at once.
