Description

This video serves as the visual accompaniment to a full essay I wrote exploring how Homer's Odyssey should be adapted to the screen by any director.

The essay was originally intended to be the script for my next video but it's an essay not a video essay. So I made a trailer instead.

I own the rights to nothing except the POEMstudio logo. Used under fair use for educational purposes, all sources are linked in the description.

The music in the video is a remix I made of "Digues Amic" by Maria del Mar Bonet. I cut the song down significantly to the length of a trailer, added some additional instruments, and inserted sections from other Maria del Mar Bonet songs "Tonades de Treball, De Segar" and "Aqueixa Ja És Sa Darrera".

I originally used my own voice but it didn't work as well with a male voice between the female vocals so I used an AI to generate the female voice. I left it low in the mix, because it's not a good AI voice, and the fact that it doesn't draw your attention away from the visuals seemed to work better. The lines are my original paraphrasing of Homer's invocation to the Muse which commences the poem.

It was important to find non-CGI visual sources, because then the world of myth is seen through our own real world. Even the horses were real horses.

Needless to say, edit by me.
