The Listed Races

Listed races are the door to the group races! Level wise, Group races are the most prestigious horse races. And according to the hierarchy of importance, listed races are more important than Handicap races but less than Group races.
In Europe, Listed races are regulated by the European Pattern Committee. In contrast, there is no single governing body for horse racing in the United States. Group races and Listed races are both open to international participants from all across the globe.
A Group One race in England can be compared to the Triple crown racing event in America.
Then comes Group 2 and Group 3 and listed races in Europe which can be compared to America's Group 1, 2 and 3 respectively.
There are more than 100 Listed horse races per season, such as Saint Vincent Prize, Newcastle or the Belmont Park.
