The Jacksons return to the Apollo
Description
ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)
STORY: Jackson fans crowded New York's Apollo Theater on Thursday (June 28) to see Jermaine, Jackie, Marlon and Tito reunite on stage for the first time in nearly three decades.
The brothers have been criss-crossing the U.S. for their 16 city "Unity Tour" performing Jackson 5 classics and some of Michael's greatest hits.
The quintet opened the show in true Jackson form, as smoke cleared to reveal the brothers striking various dramatic poses before singing "Can You Feel It." Taking over lead vocals for Michael on the song was Marlon and Jermaine.
Fans remained on their feet as the group went back in time for the 1978 disco classic "Blame It On The Boogie." Jermaine then took the lead on "I Wanna Be Where You Are," from Michael's 1971 debut solo album.
Showing no signs of slowing down, the band kept the up-tempo tunes going with Michael's 1979 hit "Rock With You."
Before the show, fans lined Harlem's 125th street eagerly awaiting for the show, with a few Michael impersonators keeping the crowds entertained.
The Jackson's Unity Tour ends on July 29 in Washington state.
