The Jacksons return to the stage
Description
PLEASE NOTE: EDIT CONTAINS CONVERTED 4:3 MATERIAL.
We all know the Jacksons 'never could say goodbye,' so their return to the stage after nearly three decades isn't a surprise.
The four remaining brothers, Jermaine, Marlon, Jackie and Tito, are hitting the road for 25 shows around the U.S for their Unity tour.
Marlon and Tito say picking up where they left off was easy.
SOUNDBITE: Marlon Jackson, singer, saying (English):
"It's like riding a bike, you just tweak some things, that's all."
SOUNDBITE: Tito Jackson, singer, saying (English):
"I think it's more like a recipe. Everybody brings a flavor to the table."
The group, known as the Jackson 5, has been working on a comeback since before the death of their brother Michael Jackson in 2009.
SOUNDBITE: Jackie Jackson, singer, saying (English):
"We were suppose to tour right after Michael's O2 Arena tours as Michael and the brothers. We were still mourning for three years and all of a sudden it was time to do it because the fans wanted us to tour, around the whole world, and they want to come out and sing songs with us, so we said, 'guys, it's time, let's go do it.'"
The brothers say they know Michael is with them every step of the way.
SOUNDBITE: Tito Jackson, singer, saying (English):
"He's with us now. We feel his presence every show we can feel his presence on stage. He helps us through and he supports what we're doing."
During a few rapid fire questions the Jacksons were undecided on who the prompt band member is, but all agree Jermaine is the momma's boy of the family.
SOUNDBITE: Jermaine Jackson, singer, saying (English):
"I am and I'll admit it, yes, and I love it, I'm proud of it."
SOUNDBITE: Marlon Jackson, singer, saying (English):
"He has a blanket in that bag right there that says mom."
Joking aside, the music icons say that fans are in for an amazing show.
SOUNDBITE: Jermaine Jackson, singer, saying (English):
"We're very confident that we're going to - we know we're going to kill it."
SOUNDBITE: Marlon Jackson, singer, saying (English):
"Jermanie is going to kill it."
SOUNDBITE: Jermaine Jackson, singer, saying (English):
"Exactly Marlon."
SOUNDBITE: Jackie Jackson, singer, saying (English):
"He moonwalks so good, you got to watch him."
SOUNDBITE: Jermaine Jackson, singer, saying (English):
"Jackie, don't start those rumors, come on. See, he's starting another rumor now."
The Jacksons will perform at the Apollo Theater on June 28.
