What starts as an intimate portrait becomes a quest to discover how a loyal and intelligent man could defraud his friends, ending with a journey to rural Thailand to discover where the money went. It takes me to the heart of sex tourism, revealing a story of love and philanthropy, success and failure, the human price of capitalism, and a friend far more complex in death than in life.
