Situated at 669 Lexington Avenue in Clifton across the street from Nash Park, The Hot Grill has been favorite destination since opening its doors on Oct. 13, 1961. Back then , the eatery didn't look like much - it was one long counter, roughly 20 seats and a kitchen area dominated by a deep fryer. This observation is validated by the fact that the Hot Grill earned the number One Hot Dog spot in The Record newspaper's Reader's Top 5 Survey. The Texas Weiner might be the eatery's claim to fame, but it's not the only item that generates rave reviews. There are home-made soups, freshly made on the premises hamburgers, roast beef platters and chili.
