Tahajjud prayers
Description
Tahajjud prayer is an optional, but highly recommended, act of worship in Islam. It is performed during the last third of the night, before the Fajr (dawn) prayer. Here's a brief guide:
1. **Intention (Niyyah)**: As with any act of worship, begin with the intention to pray Tahajjud for the sake of Allah.
2. **Time**: The best time to perform Tahajjud is during the last third of the night. This time is considered especially blessed, as it is a time when Allah's mercy and forgiveness are abundant.
3. **Wudu**: Perform ablution (wudu) before starting the prayer.
4. **Number of Rak'ahs**: There is no fixed number of rak'ahs for Tahajjud. You can pray two rak'ahs, four, six, or more, depending on your ability and desire. Some traditions suggest praying in sets of two rak'ahs.
5. **Recitation**: Recite verses from the Quran during the prayer. You may choose longer verses and surahs to prolong the prayer and increase your connection with Allah.
6. **Supplications (Dua)**: After completing your prayer, make sincere supplications. The last third of the night is a powerful time for making dua, as it is a time when Allah is especially responsive to the prayers of His servants.
7. **Consistency**: While Tahajjud is not obligatory, making it a regular practice can bring immense spiritual benefits and closeness to Allah.
May your prayers and efforts be accepted.
