thank god for the sanity
you've bestowed on me
for the strength i feel in me
i truly thank thee

for there were times
when i felt lonely and bereft
your unseen presence
it was all that was left

and then there were moments
of dejection and despair
when all seemed to shatter
i felt so naked and bare

times when not only the world
but my on courage deserted me
when even the love
wasnt for free

if it hasn't been for you
blessing away all my sorrows
i would have been bitter
cursing my past, dreading my morrows
