Sunset Joy Ride

A performance by Misael Soto. Volunteers are asked to join me in my car to go for a ride at sunset. Preferably all of them strangers, I pick them up at a mutually convenient spot, currently either in Wynwood or the Miami Design District, just as the sun is beginning to set. I lower all of the windows in my car and play some of my favorite music. I proceed to drive around town, often above the speed limit, in as many areas that allow for clear views of the sun setting. I attempt to be in movement for as long as possible, until the sun sets or the end of the performance.

Participants are encouraged to stay for the duration of the performance, but are invited to join me for as long as they like. Ideally I start the performance with 4 strangers and end it at sun down with however many have chosen to stay along for the ride. All in the car feel the breeze, listen to the music, and experience the pure, basic visual, aural, and tactile sensations.
