Pull me off the nail,
Leave myself behind,
Ghost of reality
For someone else to bind to them
And hold.

Every time I go
I end up coming back,
Every time I do
I tear myself in two.

Feel the hole it leaves,
Fingers explore the gap,
Open mouthed and gawping
As my guiding map is torn
And lost.

Every time I go

Every time I do
I tear myself in two.

Stranded and I’m lonely,
Holding on to words unsaid,
Translated silent messages
Implanted in my head,
Still the nail holds me
Takes the strength I lack,
Leave now what I can't retrieve
Till the next time I go back.

I’m going back,
Can't keep me away,
I’m going back,
I’m going back,
But
Every time I go
I end up coming back,
Every time I do
I tear myself in two,
I split myself in two,
I break myself in two,
I destroy myself.
