Stevie Wright - Evie (part 1.2.3)

"Evie" is a rock song performed by Australian singer and former frontman of the Easybeats, Stevie Wright. It was written by Harry Vanda and George Young (ex-Easybeats/Flash & The Pan) and released as a single in 1974. It has been suggested that it is the first 11-minute song to chart at #1 anywhere in the world.

The song features three parts—Part 1, "Let your hair hang down"; Part 2, "Evie"; and Part 3, "I'm losing you" — and some critics consider it as one of the most perfect rock n' roll songs ever.

Part One (when they meet), Part Two (the marriage) and Part Three (the tragedy of Evie). This performance at the Sydney Opera House on 4 November 1979 took place in front of 100,000 as part of the ''Concert Of The Decade'' event, which had Australian musicians finishing the decade with a bang. This was a triumphant performance for Stevie Wright, as it marked his return to pop music after a few years in the wilderness due to heavy drug use. Stevie would relapse in the new decade.
