I still hear your heartbeat
damn you
your scent never leaves
the pillows
and bed clothes
I've long since
tossed away
so why does it linger
and why do I
that brother Will is the question
to be or not
is the answer
when mortal thoughts
collide
with
reality
and reality
is left
in pillows
long since
tossed away
and old bed clothes
discarded
as well they should be
and why do I?
Still linger
where my scent
is no longer
nor my senses
never last
at last
only mature birds fly
and fly
and fly
till they die
so
does
love
and dear old friends
leave you
smelling
your own scents
and nothing more
