Srinagar locals protest against NIT row

Jammu, Apr 10 (ANI): Residents of Jammu on Sunday staged a protest against the ongoing NIT Srinagar row, which erupted after Kashmiri students allegedly chanted “anti-India” slogans and burst firecrackers celebrating India's defeat in the T20 World Cup semi-finals against West Indies. Carrying national flags and shouting slogans, the protestors demanded annulment of FIR against several students. Earlier, around 150 youth from Delhi, who were on their way to Srinagar’s National Institute of Technology (NIT), were also detained by the police last night.
