Spices processing industry booms in Manipur

Manipur, July 14 (ANI): Manipur’s agro-climatic condition favours cultivation of a variety of spices. Since 1999, Kangleipak Spices Industry at Lalambung Makhong Takhellambam Leikai in Imphal has been producing spices by keeping its authentic flavour intact.
It is the first company in the region to have International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certification. The Kangleipak Spices Industry produces a wide array of spices, including Chicken Masala paste, Fish Masala, Garam Masala and Vegetable Masala. With the return of peace in Manipur, many such companies have been seeing growth.
The companies are using latest machinery and technology to produce items for market not only across Manipur, but also for other parts of the country. Currently, Kangleipak spices Industry employs over 40 workers. Establishment of such industries in the state will generate more jobs for the skilled youth and contribute to the socio-economic development of the state.
