Description
My third original song is out. enjoy!

This song is inspired by the Mandelbrot set (or "Thumbprint of God"), an infinitely complicated fractal discovered in the 1970's.
The portion of the Mandelbrot set pictured in this video is somewhere on the left wall of the largest seahorse valley.
Although the Mandelbrot set is flat, it gives me the impression of an entire universe to get lost in. you can zoom in on a point so small that by the time it appears in on your screen, the original set would be larger than the observable universe. I tried to capture some of that in this song.
The fractal generator I use is called Xaos. (windows, mac, linux)
http://matek.hu/xaos/doku.php?id=main
it is by FAR the fastest free fractal generator available. instead of recalculating the image when you zoom in or out as per usual, it adds or removes however many rows and columns it needs.
the frame rate is perfectly steady, no matter how much work the generator must do. the pixels simple change in shape and size to produce the best possible image. it's absolutely amazing how responsive and sharp the set is.

And let this be your Mandelbrot set exploration background music!
Mine was Violet Eyes by The Living Tombstone and Archie. I had it stuck in my head, playing on a loop, on the day I first heard of the Mandelbrot set and researched it extensively. now the two are linked in my head. the set reminds me of the song, the song reminds me of the set.
Neither will ever get old.
