Our contract is due for renewal next month, and we have decided not to renew, but have applied to rent another property with a different agent, as there are vital repairs that need doing in our current property which our landlord has refused to do. We do not have double glazing, and the windows are that old, the frames are rotten and you can actually see daylight through the edge of the frame! And a radiator in our living room has broken, doesn't get warm etc. We accepted this house when we were made redundant, as we couldn't keep up the rent on our previous place, our local council found this house for us from a private landlord, but now we are paying the rent ourselves, these problems have come to light. We are in no rent arrears, although there has been occasions when our rent has been late due to our housing benefit not being paid on time, but we actually paid extra to catch up. Our new property is fantastic, and as we both have bad credit history (although no CCJ's or bankruptcies) my Dad has agreed to be our guarantor, and he has an excellent credit history. Will we be accepted for a tenancy? -
