We had to file bankruptcy a couple of years ago due to medical condition and unemployment. Not because we defaulted on bills and our credit was great before all this. Anyways, they approved us and said the check was in the mail. So we went out and got the car, thinking the check was being mailed to the dealership. We've had the car 2 weeks and now we are finding out that our loan was denied b/c of the bankruptcy. We were NEVER notified of this. The last words from our bank was the check is in the mail and we were approved. We had our rate, payment terms and everything. Now we are having to appeal this as we were seriously misled and have to give the car back to the dealer. We have already put a few thousand into this car. Can we pursue legal action? Or are we out the down payment and the money that we have put into it already? Thanks! Help! -
