Description

For a long time we were fed sour lemons
and we had to eat them like sweet grapes
For a long time we were given rags
And we had to wear them with pride

Through and through

For along time we were used like dirty rags
Same that were used to scrub the floors
For a long time we were pushed aside
Aside like filthy dirt

Through and through

Through and through
Our mothers cried tears for the laughter of a million daughters
Our fathers sweat the blood for the sons to be born tomorrow
In the pit pf the darkness there was light of hope

Through and through

Still they walked through the pain with pride
Still they walked with dignity
As dusty as it was they saw our names carved on the stones of life
As misty as it was they saw us shine in higher places tomorrow

Through and through
They stood for us and never gave up!
