Simona Terron - 10 Piggy Protest Parade

I wore my sneakers to class today
Ten little piggies protested loudly
Preferring the grimy freedom
Of straw chappals and roadside sandals
To cushy Reebok humidity
They chafed at each other
Grumbled about the proximity
Bred contempt, which travelled
All the way to my heart,
For the safety of confinement.
All they really want
Is to bake in the sun,
Feel the wind,
Bathe in the rain,
Dig into the sand,
Caress grass,
Breathe.
