In this is Part 1. of a three part scientific research series where we discuss how electrical shark deterrents work. We explain the general concept of how an electrical field is generated and review an example of the science in estimating how the electrical field may look if we could see it. In this Part 1. we also review other electrical deterrents to show the differences, because not electrical shark deterrents are equal.
