Sehrai - "The Story"

Sehrai comes to life as an exhaustive musical collaboration between guitarist, composer and music producer Assad Jamil and Yasir Jawed, an accomplished, eastern semi-classical vocalist.

The project’s name is derived from the Urdu language for “Desert Nomad” and reflects on the principal duo’s “nomadic” existence and mindset - A relentless longing for journeying out far and wide to find solitude…in the vastness of uncharted sounds, melodies and emotional realms.

Together, the two men of Sehrai deliver a hauntingly expressive sound: Ethereal, mystical and indigenously eastern on many levels, yet soaked in soaring guitar work, synth-laden melodies, orchestration and moving grooves. These elements fuel the band’s sonic and lyrical explorations, which more than often shed light on life’s darker and more intimate vistas.
