Sean Connery Biography

Academy Award-winning Scottish actor Sean Connery is best known for playing "007" in the first James Bond spy movies and Indiana Jones's father in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

Sean Connery was born on August 25, 1930, in Fountainbridge, Scotland. In the 1950s, he was cast in numerous films and television programs. In the early 1960s, he landed the lead role of James Bond in Dr. No. He continued to work regularly in film thereafter, and in 1987, won an Academy Award. Connery appeared in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in 1990. In 2003, he starred in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
