sanjukta sengupta - a golden cloud

A small golden cloud waited in the grayest sky,
waiting for the sun to rise and shine high.
It patiently waited for the light to conquer the darkness.
It silently prayed to be saved from being engorged by the nothingness.
But inch by inch the dark monster creeped in,
and like so many times before the little clouds prayers and hopes couldn't win.
