Vain and shallow
like a comment vixen
I crave the moment
of the connection
like a drug of perfection

Facebook updates
love to check
see whos read
what my puny
brain has said
who laughs
at a silly joke
to see if they know
today my heart has bled

as I log in
my heart rate raises
who will have left me
some jeers or praises?


elated when in red
'1 message unread'
to open and find
a new friend
or an invite to a party
that will be in Jacarti

total let down
just a politician
wanting my vote
OR
another poet who
want of his poems to gloat

have they not heard?
