I want to be addicted to something

To cocaine
To sex
To alcohol
To you

To anything

I want to cringe and grasp for something

When it is not there
When I have been deprived
When it is taken from me
When there is not enough

When I have had enough

I want to feel something that is more overpowering

Than my thoughts
Than my feelings
Than gravity
Than you

Than everything

I don’t mind if you subtract the “poetic-ness” for I

Never wanted to be beautiful
Never appreciated life’s lyrical value
Never needed pretty words to feel
Never had stanzas narate my life

Never truly loved anyway

Do not warn me, do not stop me

Let me die because of this addiction
Let it kill me
Let the poison replace my being
Let it hold me prisoner

Let me be free
