Sammi Ama - Romanticize something else

He tells me about his trips and the things he sees
but with a smile on his face
and it makes me mad that
people pay to be insane

i wonder a lot why i can’t buy sanity back
even if it’s only temporary

where’s the fairness in anything?

maybe it hides between the stories
you’ve experienced and
the ones you have told

maybe it lies beneath the
belly of the beast
that comes out to play
with all the demons that i bring
my monsters against yours

he’s so lucky and he doesn’t even know
i’d give anything for the afterglow

if it meant i knew this would soon end

but i guess i was built for this kind of world
the one you wish to see
the one you pay to see
the one that’s only a dream to you
but a reality to me

i’m ready to die and move onto the next
i’m ready to leave you all behind so i can grow
