Samantha Bursich - Rain

It's been raining for over a day...
nonstop, torrential downpour.
The tornado watch has come and gone,
but it's still wet,
slippery,
and dangerous.

The air reeks of ozone,
and there's a puddle on the floor
of my room...
but I wanted to hear the sound
as each individual drop
gets sick of barely hanging on
to the ominous clouds,
and falls to earth...
a long, dramatic suicide
which only fuels my anger.

I started off Monday
by looking out my window.
As Karen Carpenter's vocals
invaded my sanity,
I attempted to remain positive.

I even played in it last night
and again this morning
while my insomnia
ruled my body and mind.

It was fun on Monday,
but it's now Tuesday.

My shoes got too wet.
Tap dancing at 3: 00
(in the morning)
(in the rain)
is overrated...

I could have learned alot
from these experiences.
Nevertheless,
tommorrow night I won't be able
to fall asleep,
and it'll still be raining,
and I'll still be dancing in it.

But I promise you...
I will refuse to enjoy it.
