Ronnie Kerrigan - The Stranger
18 Views • Jun 13, 2014
Description
Scotching the sunlight.
He swallows and snorts a solitary sound
Piercing the pale, empty air.
The world rolls over me
As I lie with startled eyes
Gasping to breathe.
Close by, the sharp, ringing cries of children
Bounce of cobbled stones.
I drift in search of sleep and shelter
For I am obliged to tragedy.
A stranger, hungry with repression,
Desires to suffocate;
Squeeze my heart like an old rag.
My body is immersed in melancholy;
Wedding vows as false as my love.
