Ronnie Kerrigan - Reflection

Today I feel like a cheap ballpoint pen
holding back its ink.

A barely legible scrawl
only I can read.

If the past were to sink from view
I could possibly laugh

lie fallow
and periodically pen
in my best morning-glory handwriting

melodramatic words
to catch me unawares
and postpone my shriveled fate.
