The easiest way to identify an apron sink is by the apron that rides over the sink counter and over the supporting cabinets. Some have a bowed front apron, that provides an attractive rounded detail to the front of the sink. Aprons aren’t just attractive, they’re functional too. The apron protects the surface of the wood underneath. In modern day use, its a good (and green) way to prevent mold and mildew buildup, due to moisture in the wood.
