Robert Edgar Burns - The County Fair
2 Views • Jun 17, 2014
Description
livestock grazed and roamed around there.
But in a cage, was a large brown bear,
And a challenge to wrestle for a cash prize share.
Who could stay the longest in the cage with him?
Two would be winners, third place no win!
I flexed my arms and was much impressed,
Till the bear stood up and slapped my chin.
A second thought was running through my mind.
Was my insurance caught up? Did I pay in time?
But my second thought never made a third,
As I was spinning around, my shouts were all I heard.
I only lay in traction, for maybe just a week.
My head stopped hurting, my sore throat can speak.
When you're screaming
