Robert Edgar Burns - Free Form
2 Views • Jun 11, 2014
Description
Milk was fifty nine.
Eggs five dozen cartons for a dollar,
Sealtest was a favorite of mine.
A hamburger, fries and coca cola,
For a dollar and we still got change.
A watermelon for about the same price.
Thinking back this all seems strange.
Take a date to the movie theatre.
Get some popcorn and a drink.
It was such cheap fun entertainment.
Three dollars total your wallet shrinks.
Free form poetry is like these memories.
It never costs much to simply find,
The written words from the past calling,
It was never free, but it was fine.
