Losing my grip
In the tiny slip
Of time
Between time and space
My footing is gone
And so is the song
The birds used to sing to my face
The only one now
Who still knows who I am
Is my good friend Harper Lee
She can run around
And write me a book
And we are still the best of friends
But she knows who I am
And we talk when we can
As we kill each other lawfully
