Real-time Web - NodeJs and Google Maps Mashup

The real-time web is a very exciting recent development in internet technologies. Seventyeight has embarked on an R&D program exploring how to bring real-time capabilities to all. We have gained expertise in a "stack" of cutting edge open-source technologies including NodeJS (allows many concurrent connections through it's non-blocking architecture) and MongoDB (a "NoSQL" database highly optimized for speed) to produce some truly amazing results. The Real-time Maps prototype exploits these new abilities and shows how a group of people, using just modern web browsers, can interact and collaborate with one another.
