Ray Andrews - The Hangover

Hugging my toilet bowl like a long lost lover
Expelling remnants of a glorious evening
I wonder about the illusion of freedom
It's evolution to sickness and loathing

Frivolity and escape are laced with questions
Of health, happiness and joy
As the ancient grape spreads our wings
We are cast to a bewildering descent

What seemed so correct becomes blurred
Remorse replaces right
Regret transcends escape
Judgement returns a vicious edge

Resolved to steer a new course
Toward a healing and curing way
We glide along the winds of hope
Until again it's time to play
