Rachel Brewer - Blood Lines

Standing in the middle of the heat soaked field,
I can feel everything roaming inside of me.
The strength of my father, the demon.
The elegance of my mother, the witch.
Together they form inside my soul,
Creating a rhythm, playing like an orchestra,
In complete harmony.
The union of the blood lines.
The creation of a child, of the child.
Special, unique, powerful.
I haven’t moved my feet for a while,
As if locked in a trance, fixed.
Glued to the floor as my destiny is being created.
Creating it from me, my blood.
Mixing the elements given by each half of me.
My father’s blood, honour, courage and strength.
My mother’s blood, passion, grace and love.
An unstoppable combination.
When I am at my most powerful,
When my blood is complete,
I will be my true self.
I will be free.
And no one on earth will stop me.
