I have read all the lines and stories,
Of how it's meant to be.
But all the tales in this world,
Won't bring you back to me.

For so long I waited for you,
To finally know your heart,
Only for you to tell me
That I never did fit the part.

My heart has already shattered,
The peices falling away.
The pain in my chest lacerating
And I can't keep the tears at bay.

I attempt to keep the pain inside,
Sincerely I do try,
But I gave my heart, my life, my soul
Everything for a lie.

I keep running it over in my head,
Going back to the very start.
I know now that you don't love me,
But you will always have my heart.

So, yes I know all the love stories
All those romantic cliches,
And the ache inside me grows stronger;
Because my heart died that way.
