Pretty in Pink (House Remix)

Ariel Aparicio teamed up with Brooklyns remixer du jour, Pocketknife, to rework his version of the classic Psychedelic Furs song Pretty In Pink into a colorful dancefloor number. Aparicio had originally recorded a more rock-oriented version to honor a close friend who was battling breast cancer.

Pocketknife ended up stripping most of the original cover version away, keeping Aparicios vocals and reworking the songs instrumentation into a house-driven number replete with a killer synth/piano combo and his trademark percussion. Aparicios guitarist from his backing band, the Hired Guns, added some textural guitar highlights to round out the mix.
