Preparing mari for the markup

The first thing to stark with in temari embroidery is creating the base, or mari.
Traditionally it is made with cloth, but it makes them very heavy. If you make temari that can be used as a Christmas decoration, you need to make it lighter, and that is when the Styrofoam balls come to help. The plastic base should be half an inch smaller that the final ball. Use a lace weight wool or semi wool for internal wrap layer and sewing thread for the final layer
