Pool Day! Bearded Dragons Swimming!
80 Views • Nov 28, 2024
Description
Swimming is not a daily behavior of wild bearded dragons, as they rarely encounter large bodies of water. However, they are adaptable animals and possess remarkable swimming skills when needed. They swim by puffing up their bodies to help them float and then using a version of the doggy paddle. Their tails aid in balance, and if they become tired, they can simply float.
For some dragons in captivity, swimming can be an excellent enrichment activity, as some enjoy it. When taking your dragon for a swim, prioritize their safety and well-being by providing shallow water in which they can comfortably stand and ensuring the water is lukewarm. Remember, they are still cold-blooded. Always keep a close eye on them, as accidents can happen.
