Playstation Doom playthrough PART 1

Consider this a Christmas Special.\r

Just a short playthrough of what would be translated as Episode 1 on the PC version of Doom.\r

The PlayStation version of Doom had some features that made it stand out, such as ambiance rather than MIDI music like the PC version, which later was used for the N64, and completely redesigned sounds, also used later for the N64. It made use of colored lighting and transparencies, which werent in the PC version, and was a lot more atmospheric. The expense was the removal of much detail from many levels, such as certain structures and textures. Water and poison are not animated, and certain environment reions arent in there. Levels are simplified, but are not butchered, but overall, the PC Doom was a much prettier game.\r

This was a very good port of Doom though, it kept much of the levels from the PC version of Doom and Doom2 (it includes Ultimate Doom and Doom2) and throws in a few memorable levels of its own. Framerate can be a problem sometimes, but its never unplayable (except for one of the Ultimate Doom levels [which is impossible on PSX])You eventually get used to it, and it plays pretty well with a controller.\r

In my opinion, this is probably the best port of Doom. (not counting the Xbox version. Its exly like the PC, so why not get it on the PC instead?)
